They Attack the Messenger

There has been a battle going on from the beginning of time inspired by satan to disbelieve the Word of God. It started in the Garden of Eden when the Word of God was first given to Adam and down through the ages even until this time near the end of the Christian era, the same thing is occurring. When a message from God is given to His appointed Messenger, either the message or the Messenger or both are attacked and people are made to believe that the message is from satan and not from God.

God gave Adam a message saying that if you eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall surely die. Without a doubt Adam believed that word which God gave him and the devil knew that he could not persuade Adam that God’s Word was untrue. So satan, in the form of the serpent went to someone close to Adam, one in his family, his wife and convinced her that what God had told Adam was not true. Satan attacked the message of God then and caused sin to enter into the World. Both the message which was God’s Word, and the Messenger, Adam were attacked by satan.

The Bible quotes Jesus as having said: “And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the coming of the Son of man.” So let’s look at what happened during the time of Noah. Noah got a word from God that a flood was coming and instructed him to build an Ark for an escape from the oncoming catastrophe. Without a doubt everyone around Noah thought he was crazy because of what he was preaching and without a doubt made fun of him. In this case God’s Messenger was being attacked because he chose to believe what God told him to do. Even many of Noah’s relatives, those who were descendents of Adam, part of his own family, including Noah’s grandfather Methuselah disbelieved that he had received a message from God and they all perished in the flood because the message turned out to be truly from God.

Another example was with the Prophet Jeremiah. Jeremiah received a message from God and presented it to King Zedekiah, the King of Judah and Zedekiah rejected the message and attacked the Messenger by putting Jeremiah in prison. Zedekiah found out later that the message from God was true when he was taken capture and carried off to Babylon.

Then came John the Baptist with a message from God about repentance that was rejected by King Herod and he then attacked the Messenger of God and had John imprisoned and killed.

These represent just a few of the Messengers of God, which He sent to the people up to that time who were attacked by those who chose to disbelieve a message from God and suffered the consequences because of their disbelief and actions taken against God’s Messengers.

Jesus met the same fate as many others. Not only was His message rejected, but here again the people of that day attacked and killed the Messenger.

Only after the Lord’s Apostles left the scene, having carried God’s message of the gospel throughout the World came the end of the Messengers. Although, the message continued with the people until they also became victims of persecution. Without a noticeable Messenger on the scene, then the attack on God’s message became the focal point. For years after those days, starting with the Nicene council’s decisions in AD325, the truth of God’s Word came under attack and for many years of man’s Bible interpretations and revisions, the message from God became so obscure that the truth of His Word could not be determined.

Now we will go fast forward to these last days in order to see what God is attempting to do for the believers of today. God ordained a man to take a gift of Divine healing to the people in the office of an Evangelist to preach the Gospel. During the ministry of this man, in a supernatural way, God gave him a message for the people to prepare them for the second coming of Christ. God’s message to this man was: “As John the Baptist foreran the first coming of Christ, your message will precede His second coming”. Through revelation from God, this man saw that God’s message for this end time was that a lot of things about the Bible have been misconstrued down through the ages and God’s appointed Messenger will come to straighten that all out. This Messenger is to come after me he said and take the people back to the truths in the Bible.

Now God has sent another Messenger who is devoted to exposing the errors and clear up all misunderstandings  of what the Bible actually represented before man messed it up down through the years.

This man has devoted most of his final years clearing up the misunderstanding of Bible scripture and publishing the truth as God has revealed to him. But just as always, when a man brings a message from God, both the message and the Messenger has come under attack.

Jesus made the statement at one time that a man’s foes (enemies) are those of his own household. This has certainly come to pass with this Messenger of God. If we look back at Noah’s day we see that his children, even though they may not have believed the message he preached about the flood, respected and honored him enough that they entered into the Ark he built and were saved. These sons of Noah were adult children and were married. These adult sons of his didn’t remind Noah of the transgressions in his past life and use that for a reason to dishonor him rejecting the message of God that he was preaching and saying that because they were adults they didn’t have to  accept his word about the flood coming. In that day, even adult children showed honor and respect for a man trying to serve God in his life.

John the Baptist was accused of having a devil and they used that to reject his message. The same happened to Jesus. The people accused Him of doing works and attributed them to the devil. This was common practice and still is. Satan plans it this way so no one will believe the truth of God’s message or His Messenger. The same as today where those in my own household accuse me of having a religious devil because of the work I am doing for God. Yes, they can look back on my life at past transgression just like Noah probably had and reject the message and the Messenger today. But you see, this is nothing but satan’s doing by using those who are close to you, just like they did Adam by using Eve to reject both the message and the Messenger.

I consider it to be an honor to be accused of having a devil, just as they have accused all of those men of God before me. This only proves to me that God has given me a message to deliver and I am a Messenger of God, or satan would not have brought such an attack on me as he has. Who am I that should suffer any less than the Lord Jesus or the other saints who have given their life for the truth of God’s Word to be preached?

I will close this by repeating the same words that Jesus used addressing the last Church age:

As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
